Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister
Dear Prime Minister, Ministers and Senate Group Leaders, On Saturday November 5, CTV's W5 aired shocking footage from the largest-ever exposé of zoos in Canada, showing widespread suffering, health issues, death, and troubling threats to public safety. The heartbreaking conditions at these zoos show why it’s important for Parliament to support Bill S-241, also known as the Jane Goodall Act. The Bill would be a huge step forward for exotic and wild animals, by limiting the ability of individuals and most zoos to import, keep, or breed over 800 species of wild animals in captivity. This includes big cats, bears, many monkeys, wolves, sea lions, walruses, and dangerous reptiles like crocodiles and snakes. The bill has support from animal advocacy organizations, like Animal Justice and Zoocheck Canada, and is even supported by many zoos themselves, including the Montreal Biodome, the Toronto Zoo, and the Calgary Zoo. I hope you will give the act your support as it moves through the Senate. Kind regards, {user_data~First Name} {user_data~Last Name} {user_data~City}, {user_data~Province}
