Join the Call for Video Surveillance in Canadian Slaughterhouses

Hidden camera footage released by Animal Justice exposed the first-ever look into a small-scale, local Canadian slaughterhouse. The footage captured gentle cows, calves, sheep, goats, and llamas enduring illegal abuse and heartbreaking suffering.

From large operations to small-scale slaughterhouses, the abuse of animals behind closed doors should not be allowed to continue. The public should be able to see inside facilities like these and know what they’re supporting with their purchases.

We’re calling on Canadian provinces to join countries like England, Scotland, Spain, and the Netherlands in mandating that cameras be installed in slaughterhouses. By broadcasting directly to the internet so people can see the truth about slaughter with their own eyes, cameras in slaughterhouses would help encourage compliance with the existing regulations at abattoirs and reduce excessive animal suffering.
