Horse Seriously Injured in Calgary Stampede 2026 Chuckwagon Races—Act Now!

A horse was seriously injured during the 2026 Calgary Stampede chuckwagon races after two wagons crashed into each other.

Just days earlier, a horse named Ice Cube was repeatedly struck in the head and had his mane yanked by a rodeo worker after collapsing in a chute during a bronc riding event. The abuse was captured on live television.

Every year at the Calgary Stampede, animals face abuse, terror, and often lose their lives. At least 110 animals have died in Stampede rodeo and chuckwagon events over the past 40 years.

These events force sensitive animals into chaotic, high-risk situations that all too often end in serious injury or death. While cruelty to animals is typically unlawful, the Alberta government recently changed its laws to give rodeo and chuckwagon racing a free pass from rules that would otherwise apply—leaving animals used in these events with even fewer legal safeguards against suffering.
