Doug Ford: Follow Through on Promise To Ban Experiments on Cats & Dogs

Ontario Premier Doug Ford committed to banning experiments on cats and dogs after Animal Justice helped expose a secret dog lab at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London, Ontario. Dogs were forced to endure painful heart attacks before being killed and thrown out like trash.

Now, the government has introduced a bill to ban cruel cat and dog experiments, as well as breeding dogs and cats for use in research. This is an important step forward—but it’s only the beginning.

Animal Justice is urging the Ontario government to build on this momentum and move quickly to ban all cruel experiments on cats and dogs, ensure that surviving animals are adopted into loving homes rather than killed, and end “pound seizures", where lost or surrendered companion animals at municipal pounds are sold to experimenters.
