Protect Marineland’s Animals from Suffering & Slaughter

After years of concern about the whales and other animals still confined at Marineland, hundreds of deer and elk are being removed from the property, and some may be sent to slaughterhouses, according to information given to Animal Justice by a Marineland employee. Many of the deer are reportedly suffering from untreated injuries, including facial wounds, while living in overcrowded conditions that lead to stress and fighting.

The now-shuttered roadside zoo is reportedly planning to move all remaining deer and elk by July 24, 2026, as it works to sell off its valuable stretch of real estate. Transporting deer and elk who are injured, compromised, or otherwise unfit may violate federal laws designed to prevent animal suffering during transport. The facility has also been working to offload its remaining whales and dolphins, even threatening to kill the animals unless the federal government adheres to the park’s demands. Reportedly, Marineland is working to rid itself of the whales and dolphins by late July as well. 20 whales and one dolphin have died at the deteriorating facility since 2019.

Join us in calling on animal law enforcement to immediately investigate the welfare of these animals and take all necessary steps to protect them. As many as possible should be rehomed to sanctuaries.
