In a major victory for animals, Ontario has finally moved to ban cat declawing, dog ear cropping, and debarking. However, cruel tail docking is still legal.
Tail docking involves severing a puppy’s tail bone, carrying severe risks of infection, chronic nerve damage, and lifelong phantom pain. It also permanently destroys a dog's primary tool for communication—their tail.
Thank the Ontario government for taking this important step, and urge them to ban tail docking as well!
