Canadians expect strong legal protections for animals on farms... but behind the scenes, the powerful animal agriculture industry has gone to extraordinary lengths to avoid regulation, conceal cruelty, and trick the public into believing that farmed animals are treated well. In reality, hundreds of millions of animals endure a living hell on Canadian farms every year, with practically zero legal protections.

In this special event, we’ll screen two short Animal Justice films that pull back the curtain on the tactics Big Ag uses to protect its profits and keep the public in the dark about the suffering inflicted on farmed animals.

• The Rise of Agricultural Front Groups: World Online Premiere! (33 minutes): Discover how Big Ag front groups have borrowed dirty tactics from Big Tobacco and Big Oil to manipulate public opinion, cover up animal cruelty, and protect industry profits.

• Canada Is Failing Farmed Animals (20 minutes): Did you know that Canada has effectively no laws governing how animals are treated on farms? Discover how our legal system fails to protect cows, pigs, chickens, and other farmed animals from cruelty, while allowing Big Ag to write its own rules through a secretive, industry-dominated organization called the National Farm Animal Care Council (NFACC).

Following the screenings, we’ll bring together experts for a live panel discussion to answer YOUR questions about the films, front groups, NFACC, and the disturbing realities of Big Ag's influence in Canada. Join us to see what Big Ag doesn't want Canadians to see.
